Whether you’re having issues with it or just want to sell it, here’s how to factory reset the Google Home to erase all of its settings for a fresh start.
RELATED: How to Set Up Google Home
To reset the Google Home, press and hold down on the mute button for about 15 seconds. After the first few seconds, Google Assistant will tell you to keep holding it down if you want to reset the device.
As you hold down the mute button, the circular light display will continuously fill up until it makes a full circle.
After that, the device will emit a chime and you can then let go of the mute button. During the reset process, the Google Home’s lights will display a few different patterns, and the process should only take about a minute or two.
Once it’s done resetting, Google Assistant will say that it’s ready for setup, just like it said when you took it out of the box for the first time. From there, you can either set it back up using our guide (and hope that resolves any previous issues), or box it up if you’re planning on giving it or selling it to someone else.
