Check Through UAN Portal

Before leaping into the steps, let’s be aware of our UAN number because without this uniquely formed number you cannot access your EPFO account online. UAN contains 12 digits, provided to every employee who has an account in the Employee Provident Fund Scheme. The number doesn’t change even when the employee changes his organization.  If you are unaware of your UAN number, you can ask your employer because he is the one who activates the UAN number or you can also check the salary or payslip.

Check Through UMANG App

UMANG app has started as a digital initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Government of India). The government developed the app to help the citizens avail themselves of PAN India and e-government services at their fingertips.

Steps To Check Your PF Account Number Via The UMANG App

Download the UMANG app available on both android and IOS devices.

Log into the app.

After logging in to the app on the front page, select the “EPF services” option.

Then, from all the options available, select “employee-centric service” options.

After that, select the “view passbook” option.

Give in log-in details along with OTP.

Then it will give access to view all your PF-related details.

Check With Pay Slip

Every end of the month as an employee you will receive a salary or payslip. Along with the monthly EPF contributions, you can also find your EPF account number on that. .Your employer makes monthly contributions towards EPF.

By Consulting HR Department

If your organization falls under the special firms as defined by the Government, if your organization is an exempted trust, then the HR department of such organization maintains the PF accounts instead of the Government. Only the funds are managed in a different place  .In exempted cases and in other cases such as if your employer failed to provide the PF details on the payslip, you can simply consult your HR or members in the HR department and enquire about the PF number.

In the worst scenario, if you are still clueless and haven’t got your hands on the PF number, you can try the last option by visiting the nearest regional PF or EPFO office. This last option will provide you with answers with no fail. In the office, go to the grievance department, explain your situation, and fill out the grievance redressal form by giving all the important details, such as KYC.  After processing your form, the system will update your PF account by displaying all the required details such as PF number, How To Find EPS Account Number PF balance, transactions, statements, etc. Please note that here PF number or EPF number means the same.
