There is more than one way to install an update, and in this guide, we will take a look at all of them. Undoubtedly, one of these methods will do the job for you.
Update using the safe mode:
In most of the cases, people are having difficulties with the new update installation due to the system’s inability to recognize the pending software update. Whenever a user taps on the update notification, the system tries to install it but sometimes it just merely rejects it. This is mainly because for some bug, and your system is unable to recognize this pending update. In this case, you can try installing the update forcefully by putting your system in Safe mode.
Make sure that your PS4 Vanilla, PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro is connected to the Internet.

Then you will need a PC to format and copy the update file.

- Now go to PlayStation’s website here and download the latest PS4 update file.
- After the download is complete, copy the file to the UPDATE folder in the USB drive.
- Now take the USB out of the PC and connect it to your PS4.
