Back in 2017, Samsung has released its flagship model called Samsung Galaxy S8 that has been discontinued now but plenty of users are still preferring to use this device as their daily driver. However, due to the older hardware specification or outdated skin, it may possible that the handset doesn’t work properly and users are trying to reinstall the stock ROM. If you’re one of them, follow this guide on How to Flash Stock Firmware for Samsung Galaxy S8 using ODIN.
Well, after flashing the stock firmware again on the handset, the chances are high enough that you’ll find your device slightly faster or stable in terms of performance whatsoever. This basically clears all the possible system glitches or cache data completely. Meanwhile, if you’ve previously flashed a custom firmware, or enabled root access, or unlocked the bootloader then reinstalling the Stock ROM can all third-party interference.
Here we’ll be using the ODIN flash tool to install the official stock firmware on Samsung Galaxy devices which has been officially recommended by Samsung. ODIN flash tool is one of the popular and widely used flashing software for Samsung Galaxy devices that does the job very easily even if you’re a first-time user of it. So, what’s the need for flashing stock firmware?
What is a Stock Firmware
Stock Firmware (Stock ROM) is the official ROM that the manufacture designs and loads into the device model accordingly. Each and every device model has its own official stock firmware that works really well by installing future updates. Though it doesn’t have too many visual elements or customization options like custom firmware, it’s more stable & smooth than anything else.
So, the stock firmware not only offers a stable user experience but also helps the device to run as a daily driver for years without looking back further. Whereas an aftermarket firmware can only give you visual treatment and a bunch of additional functionalities but lacks the stability as a daily driver.
